Old
System - Before any actions |
| |
For
this quick tour, we will be migrating from an older Windows
95 system (shown here) to a new Windows 2000 system. Of
course, PC Upgrade Commander also supports migrations
between other Windows systems, such as Windows 98, Me,
and NT. |

Old
System - Transfer Wizard |
| |
When
you first start PC Upgrade Commander, you walk through
the Transfer Wizard on both your old and new systems.
The Transfer Wizard asks you several simple questions,
such as if this is the old or the new computer.

New
System - Transfer Method |
| |
You
will also run PC Upgrade Commander on the new system.
As you proceed, it asks you which transfer method you
would like. For this example, we'll transfer over the
network . Other methods include using a parallel crossover
cable (included with the physical package), or through
our file method, using a 3rd mutually accessible computer
or Jaz, Zip or Orb removable media devices.

New
System - Transfer in Progress |
| |
The
new system is now receiving the applications, data and
settings from the old system. Remember that PC Upgrade
Commander will not overwrite any data or applications
already installed on your new system, so pre-installed
new applications are always left in place. |

and data have all been moved to the new system. You're

Undo
Feature |
| |
Although
PC Upgrade Commander does not erase applications or data
on your computers, you have the option of undoing all
the changes that PC Upgrade Commander made. Just run the
Transfer Wizard again, and it gives you the option to
undo the previous migration. |
